Your planning resource for exhibiting at SHOT Show 2027 in Las Vegas. From booth costs and the two-venue floor plan to firearms logistics and key deadlines, this guide covers what you need to know before, during, and after the show.
WHAT IS SHOT SHOW?
The SHOT Show (Shooting, Hunting, Outdoor Trade Show) is the largest trade show in the world for the shooting sports, hunting, and outdoor industry. Owned and produced by the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), the show is held every January in Las Vegas across two connected venues: the Venetian Expo and Caesars Forum.
SHOT Show 2027 takes place January 19–22, 2027. This will be the 49th edition of the show. The 2026 show drew more than 53,000 industry professionals from all 50 states and 126 countries, with 2,744 exhibitors across more than 834,500 net square feet of exhibit space.
SHOT Show is strictly a trade event. Attendance is restricted to the shooting, hunting, and outdoor trade and to commercial buyers and sellers of military, law enforcement, and tactical products. It’s not open to the public, and no one under 16 is admitted. That credentialing makes the floor unusually productive: the people walking it are retailers, range operators, distributors, law enforcement procurement officers, and international buyers with real purchasing authority.
The show anchors a full week of industry activity, and four of its events matter directly to exhibitors:
INDUSTRY DAY AT THE RANGE
Held the Monday before the show at a live-fire range event. More than 200 exhibitors put products in the hands of 2,400+ invited buyers and media. Separate application, limited slots
SUPPLIER SHOWCASE
A two-day OEM event on Venetian Expo Level 5 that opens the day before the main show. 600+ component, materials, and services suppliers meet exhibiting manufacturers.
SHOT UNIVERSITY + LEEP
Education tracks running alongside the exhibits: retailer operations through SHOT University, and the Law Enforcement Education Program for LE attendees.
ARCHERY + HUNTING RETAILER PAVILION
A dedicated home for archery and hunting retail at Caesars Forum, anchoring those categories on the expansion campus.
If your brand sells into shooting sports, hunting, outdoor recreation, or the law enforcement and tactical channel, SHOT Show is the one week when your entire buyer universe is in the same city.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO EXHIBIT AT SHOT SHOW?
Booth space at SHOT Show 2027 runs $43.00 per net square foot, with a $1,000 surcharge per corner. That puts a standard 10×10 inline booth at $4,300 for the space itself, and a 20×20 island at $17,200 plus corner fees.
Compared with other shows of this size, SHOT’s floor space pricing is deliberately kept on the lower end; NSSF positions the show as an industry service, and exhibit revenue funds the foundation’s advocacy and safety programs.
NSSF membership cuts the rate further. Supporting and Associate members get $5 off per square foot, and Patron members get $10 off, in both cases up to the cost of annual dues. For most booth sizes, membership effectively pays for itself in space savings alone, so if you’re exhibiting and not a member, you’re leaving money on the table.
Every exhibitor is also required to purchase the SHOT Marketing Package, which covers your listing in the SHOT Show Planner, mobile app, and printed directory, plus digital press kits and lead access through the exhibitor dashboard.
What Else Goes Into the Budget?
As a general rule, plan for your total exhibit investment to land around three times the cost of your floor space. That multiplier covers design, fabrication, graphics, shipping, installation, staffing, travel, and on-site services.
On-site services at SHOT Show are split between contractors, and the split depends on which building you’re in. Freeman is the Official Service Contractor for material handling, furniture, labor, carpet, and rigging under 200 pounds at the Venetian Expo. Encore handles internet, telephone, and heavy rigging at the Venetian, and electrical, rigging, and internet at Caesars Forum. Each building has its own order forms and its own electrical provider, which catches returning exhibitors off guard when they move buildings. Lead retrieval runs through Maritz, with an advance-rate deadline in early December. If you’re displaying a vehicle, budget for a fire permit and a Freeman spotting fee, and note the permit application deadline lands in mid-November.

WHERE IS SHOT SHOW? A GUIDE TO THE VENETIAN EXPO AND CAESARS FORUM
WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT EXHIBITING ACROSS TWO BUILDINGS
SHOT Show spans two venues in Las Vegas: the Venetian Expo and Caesars Forum, connected by the SHOT Bridge, an enclosed walkway that runs from Level 2 of the Venetian Expo directly into Caesars Forum. The closest airport is Harry Reid International (LAS), about 15 minutes from both buildings.
Understanding the two-venue layout is the single most important piece of floor strategy at this show. Buyers plan their days around minimizing back-and-forth between buildings, which means your booth’s building assignment shapes who walks past it and when.
Halls A–E (Level 1)
The main exhibit floors, with more than 1,400 exhibiting companies across two levels. Secured firearms storage areas are located in Hall G (Level 1), Hall D (Level 2), and the Level 2 ballrooms.
Venetian Expo Level 5: Supplier Showcase
Home of the two-day Supplier Showcase, which opens the day before the main show. If you sell components, materials, or OEM services to manufacturers rather than finished products to retailers, this is your room.
Caesars Forum
The SHOT Bridge
The enclosed connector between Venetian Expo Level 2 and Caesars Forum. Outdoor BBQ dining sets up just off the bridge on Level 2, which makes the bridge corridor one of the higher-traffic zones at the show during lunch hours.
Hotels & Dining
The Venetian and Palazzo sit directly above the Expo, and they’re the only on-campus option. The official housing providers are the Venetian/Palazzo block and onPeak. Any other company offering SHOT Show housing is a scam. Ignore it.
Book early either way. Rooms within walking distance go fast, and January in Las Vegas overlaps with other major events. For team dinners, the Venetian’s own restaurant row is the practical default, and reservations during show week are not optional.
WHEN SHOULD YOU START PLANNING FOR SHOT SHOW?
Ideally, 9–12 months out. SHOT Show 2027 opens January 19, which means serious planning starts the previous spring. Booth space assignments, hotel blocks, and fabrication timelines all reward exhibitors who move early, and several of the show’s deadlines land well before the holidays, when production calendars are already tight. The dates below follow the 2026 show cycle and shift slightly each year.
| Timeframe | What to Do | ||
|---|---|---|---|
| 12+ months out | Book booth space (prime locations and building preference fill first). Join or renew NSSF membership to capture the per-square-foot discount. Define your show objectives and begin conversations with your exhibit partner about goals, budget, and booth size. | ||
| 9–10 months out | Lock in hotel rooms through the official providers (Venetian/Palazzo or onPeak). Begin exhibit design concepting. Decide whether you’re applying for Industry Day at the Range, which has its own application and limited exhibitor slots. | ||
| 6–8 months out | Approve final exhibit design and begin fabrication. Order graphics. Late September: deadline to be included in the printed SHOT Show Directory. Early October: exhibitor badge registration opens (badges are allocated by booth size). | ||
| 3–5 months out | Exhibitor Resource Center (ERC) forms go live; start ordering on-site services and watch which building your forms belong to. Mid-November: vehicle display permit application deadline. Early December: Maritz lead retrieval advance-rate deadline. Mid-December: Freeman vehicle/mobile unit forms due. | ||
| -5 weeks out | Freeman advance warehouse opens in mid-December and receives freight through early January. Firearms freight must ship separately from all other materials using the security shipping labels from the ERC. Train booth staff on messaging, demos, and lead capture workflow. | ||
| -1 week out | Advance warehouse closes (early January). Confirm your freight target time; direct-to-site shipments must hit the Freeman Marshaling Yard (10 miles from the venue) during that window. POV/cart service runs Sunday and Monday before the show, with the first cart load free. | ||
| Show week | Move-in runs by target time Sunday and Monday. Pick up firearms freight from security (Room 306, Venetian Level 1, or Room 402, Caesars Forum). All display firearms must have firing pins removed and pass Safety Advisor inspection. Show runs Tuesday through Friday. Secure firearms in the free overnight storage areas every night; the person who checks them in must check them out. | ||
| Post-show | Follow up with leads within 48 hours. POVs reload Friday evening (5–9 PM). If your booth is headed to another show, your exhibit partner coordinates direct forwarding from Las Vegas. Conduct ROI analysis and plan storage or refresh for next year. | ||
WHAT MAKES A GREAT BOOTH AT SHOT SHOW?
A successful SHOT Show booth is built around one thing: getting product into buyers’ hands. This is a tactile show, and buyers evaluate by hand before they’ll talk numbers. Your booth design needs to make hands-on evaluation effortless while handling the security requirements that come with displaying firearms, and still leave room for the dealer-program conversations that actually move inventory.
Shoulder It. Rack It. Run The Bolt.
DESIGN FOR HANDS-ON EVALUATION
Buyers at SHOT expect to handle everything. Product walls need secure mounts that release cleanly, display heights that invite touch, and fixtures durable enough for four days of constant handling. If your product is behind glass, you’re telling buyers to keep walking.
BUILD SECURITY INTO THE DESIGN
Display firearms must have firing pins removed and pass Safety Advisor inspection, and they go to secured storage every night. Design display systems that load in and out quickly each morning without tearing down the booth around them.
PICK YOUR BUILDING, PLAN YOUR TRAFFIC
Venetian Expo and Caesars Forum draw different traffic patterns, and the SHOT Bridge corridor concentrates foot traffic at predictable hours. Know where your buyers spend their day before you fight for a corner.
MAKE MEETING SPACE EARN ITS KEEP
Dealer programs, distribution terms, and LE contracts get discussed sitting down. A booth that’s all product wall and no conversation space generates handshakes, not purchase orders. Even a 10×20 can carve out a semi-private corner.
TALK BUSINESS, NOT JUST SPECS
STAND OUT FROM THE SEA OF BLACK
Half the floor is matte black products on black slatwall under dark truss. Lighting design, material contrast, and disciplined brand color do more differentiation work at SHOT than almost any other show.
Planning your SHOT Show exhibit? Let’s start the conversation.
How Does NPARALLEL + Atomic Props Approach Shot Show?
Before we sketch a single concept, we dig into your goals for SHOT Show specifically. Are you launching a new product line, recruiting dealers, building your LE and government channel, or meeting international distributors? Which buyer segments matter most, and which building puts you in front of them? We build the strategy around your answers, not a one-size-fits-all template.
Our design team then creates custom trade show exhibits purpose-built for the SHOT Show environment. That means product display systems engineered for constant hands-on evaluation, secure overnight storage workflows designed into the booth rather than bolted on, and layouts that balance open product access with the private conversation space where dealer terms get negotiated.
Your exhibit is built in our 160,000 square foot facility in Minneapolis by the same team that designed it. CNC machinists, scenic painters, metalworkers, and fiberglass specialists work under one roof, which means your project doesn’t get handed off between vendors or lost in translation.
For SHOT Show exhibitors, that often means locking display fixtures that secure product without hiding it, weight-rated mounting systems for full product lines of firearms and optics, finishes that survive four days of heavy handling, and modular components that can be refreshed with new graphics and SKUs each January without a full rebuild.
We design technology into the exhibit experience from the start, not as an afterthought. That includes digital displays and video walls for brand storytelling, interactive screens for deep product catalogs that won’t fit on a booth wall, and lead capture built into the booth workflow so your team scans badges without breaking conversations.
At a show where buyers evaluate products by feel, technology plays a supporting role: educating buyers on product lines too deep to display in full, telling the brand story behind the hardware, and capturing lead data in real time so your follow-up starts before the show floor closes.
SHOT Show is one of the more logistically demanding shows on the calendar: two buildings with different service contractors, freight target times routed through a marshaling yard ten miles from the venue, and a firearms security process with no equivalent at any other major trade show. Our project management team handles every detail so your staff can focus on buyer conversations.
That includes placing and tracking service orders with the correct contractor for your building (Freeman for material handling and labor, Encore for utilities depending on venue), managing freight target times and advance warehouse windows, coordinating firearms shipments under the security label program with pickup from the secured rooms, supervising installation and dismantle, and running the nightly secured-storage routine for display firearms.
Every project gets a complete Show Book: a single document covering your logistics schedule, service orders, approvals, shipping details, setup instructions, and key contacts. When your on-site team arrives in Las Vegas, everything they need is in one place. After the show, we handle teardown, storage, and if your booth is headed to another event, direct forwarding to the next venue.
Should You Buy or Rent Your Shot Show Booth?
This depends on where you are in your SHOT Show journey.
Custom Exhibits
If SHOT Show anchors your trade show calendar every January, a custom build gives you complete control over product display, security workflow, and meeting space. It can be stored, refreshed with new graphics and SKUs each year, and reused across show cycles, which spreads the investment over time.
Rental Exhibits
If you’re testing the show, expanding into a second booth at the Supplier Showcase, or working with a tighter budget, a rental program gets you a professional presence without the capital outlay. Rentals can still carry custom graphics, product mounts, and locking displays.
Many of our clients land somewhere in between with a custom re-use program: a custom-built framework with modular components that get updated each year. You get the look and feel of a fully custom exhibit with a lower per-show cost.

EXHIBITING AT SHOT SHOW FOR THE FIRST TIME?
First-time exhibitors at SHOT Show face a steeper learning curve than at most trade shows. The show is enormous, it spans two buildings, and it layers a firearms security process on top of standard trade show logistics. Here’s how to set yourself up for a strong debut.
1
Secure Space and Membership Together
Apply for booth space early and join NSSF at the same time; the member discount on space typically covers the dues. Be realistic about building assignment as a first-year exhibitor, and ask where comparable first-year brands have been placed.
2
Master the Paperwork Early
Everything runs through the Exhibitor Resource Center, and forms differ by building. The Marketing Package is a required purchase. Badges are allocated by booth size. If you’re showing firearms, complete the Firearms Survey and use the security shipping labels; there’s no workaround on-site.
3
Budget for the Full Picture
Floor space is the visible cost. Material handling, electrical, carpet, lead retrieval, labor, and travel stack on top, and a corner booth adds $1,000 per corner. Plan on roughly three times your space cost, and get on-site service orders in before the advance-rate deadlines.
The most common first-timer mistake at SHOT is treating it like a product showcase instead of a sales channel event. Buyers are here to fill their dealer programs and order books for the year. Show up with your margin structure, dealer terms, and delivery story as polished as your product wall.
Frequently Asked Questions About Shot Show
Is SHOT Show open to the public?
No. SHOT Show is restricted to the shooting, hunting, and outdoor trade and to commercial buyers and sellers of military, law enforcement, and tactical products. Admission requires proof of professional affiliation with the industry, no one under 16 is admitted, and badges are non-transferable: each registrant picks up their own badge in person with photo ID.
Can you carry a personal firearm at SHOT Show?
No. Personal firearms and ammunition are prohibited for everyone, including exhibitors and credentialed attendees. The only firearms allowed on the floor are exhibitor display firearms with firing pins removed, and every one of them is inspected by SHOT Show Safety Advisors before display.
How do exhibitors ship firearms to SHOT Show?
Firearms ship separately from all other booth freight using dedicated security shipping labels from the Exhibitor Resource Center. They route directly to show security, and you collect them on-site from Room 306 at the Venetian Expo (Level 1) or Room 402 at Caesars Forum. If you fly with firearms in checked luggage, SHOT runs check-in desks in baggage claim at Harry Reid Terminals 1 and 3 that transport them to secured storage for you.
How do you help clients stand out at SHOT Show?
SHOT Show floors run dark: black products, black fixtures, dark truss, building-wide. We design exhibits that win on what the rest of the floor ignores: lighting that makes product finishes readable, material contrast that pulls the eye from the aisle, display systems that invite handling instead of guarding against it, and a layout that moves buyers naturally from first touch to seated conversation.
What makes SHOT Show different from other trade shows?
Three things. First, the security layer: firearms logistics, firing-pin inspections, and nightly secured storage add a compliance workflow that exists at no other major show. Second, the two-venue footprint: the Venetian Expo and Caesars Forum operate with different service contractors and different traffic patterns, connected by the SHOT Bridge. Third, the buyer behavior: this audience evaluates by hand, and booth design that doesn’t support physical product interaction underperforms regardless of how good it looks.
When should I start planning for SHOT Show?
Start 9–12 months out, which for a January show means the previous spring. Booth space and building assignments fill early, hotel inventory near the venues is tight, and several key deadlines (printed directory, vehicle permits, lead retrieval advance rates) land in the fall, well before most teams are thinking about January.
Is there anything important to know about the floor plan?
Walk time is the hidden cost. The show spans more than 834,500 net square feet across two buildings, and crossing from a Venetian Level 1 booth to a meeting at Caesars Forum can take 20 minutes in show-week crowds. Schedule buyer meetings by building and by level, and if your team splits across both venues, plan staffing so nobody is sprinting the SHOT Bridge between appointments.
What are common challenges exhibitors face at SHOT Show?
The compliance workload surprises first-timers: security labels, firearms inspections, and the nightly storage check-in/check-out routine all take real time, every day. The two-building contractor split causes ordering mistakes, since electrical forms for the wrong venue get rejected. And the show’s scale wears teams down; four days of heavy handling traffic means booth staffing plans need depth, not just enthusiasm.
WHY OUTDOOR AND SHOOTING SPORTS BRANDS TRUST US AT SHOT SHOW
Products at a firearms trade show don’t display like consumer goods. They’re heavy, they’re high-value, they’re regulated, and buyers insist on handling them. That combination shapes every design decision: mounting systems rated for full product lines, locking fixtures that secure without hiding, finishes that survive thousands of hands, and layouts that keep sightlines open for both merchandising and security.
We build for shows where the product is the experience. Our fabrication team engineers weight-bearing displays, working demo stations, and durable interactive fixtures in-house, and our project managers handle compliance-heavy logistics as a matter of routine. At SHOT Show, that discipline shows up as a booth that clears Safety Advisor inspection without drama, runs the nightly storage routine without losing morning floor time, and puts your products in buyers’ hands from the first hour of the show.
First SHOT Show or fifteenth, the job is the same: turn hands-on evaluation into dealer relationships.
