CASE STUDY
BOSTON SCIENTIFIC MEDICAL DEVICE
Program Management
- Minneapolis MN
- Corporate Events, Event Technology, Trade Show Marketing
Executive Summary
Boston Scientific relies on NPARALLEL + Atomic Props to manage a complex, ongoing program spanning three divisions: storing medical devices between events, preparing and quality-checking them before each deployment, restocking consumables, and shipping them where they need to go. When devices come back, we receive them, inspect them, and get them ready for the next one.
We also build the display solutions that make those devices look the part at trade shows and demos. It’s a program that has grown because we show up the way their internal team would, and because we’re willing to do the work others won’t.
Business Challenge
Boston Scientific’s medical devices travel constantly. They’re needed at trade shows, training sessions, product demos, and events across multiple divisions, and the logistics of managing them fell into a gray area: too specialized for a general logistics provider, too operationally demanding for the team to manage internally.
When devices aren’t properly managed, things go missing, they break, or arrive to the show floor unprepared. What Boston Scientific needed wasn’t just storage. They needed a partner who understood trade show programs, could be trained on their specific equipment, and would treat every outbound shipment like a show-critical deliverable.
Goals & Objectives
-
Centralize device storage, quality control, and fulfillment across multiple Boston Scientific divisions
-
Ensure every device ships complete, functional, and ready for use, with all supplemental materials included
-
Remove the operational burden from internal teams so they can focus on what they're there to do
-
Create display solutions that present devices professionally at trade shows and demos
-
Build a program flexible enough to grow as needs evolve
Our Solution
A Program Built Around Their Workflow
When Boston Scientific needs a device at an event, they contact us or place an order through our online storefront. From there, we pull the device, confirm every supplemental piece is included, and get it shipped. When it comes back, our team opens the case, does a full quality check, restocks consumables, and tags it as ready for the next deployment.
It sounds straightforward because we built it that way. But behind that simplicity is a team that learned the equipment.
Training Day
When we onboard a new program, we spend a full day with Boston Scientific’s product and marketing managers. They walk us through what each device is, what it’s supposed to do, how to check that it’s functioning correctly, and what has to ship with it. We ask questions. We document everything. By the time they leave, we know the program as well as they do.
That investment in knowledge is what makes the day-to-day seamless. We’re not guessing at what “ready to ship” means. We know.
Quality Control, Every Time
One of the biggest problems with internal device management is that quality checks are inconsistent. When a sample set is passed from person to person, no one’s job is to verify it before it goes out. Batteries die. Pieces go missing. Supplies run out.
In our warehouse, every device that comes back goes through the same process: opened, inspected, restocked, and tagged. Nothing leaves without someone having eyes on it first.
Display Solutions That Do the Work
Boston Scientific also came to us with a common problem: devices that deserved a better presentation than a table. We design and fabricate custom acrylic display trays and presentation solutions that organize their products clearly and make an immediate impression at trade shows and demos.
It’s the kind of add-on that makes sense when you already trust the team managing your program. We know the devices, we know the environment, and we build to fit both.
Results
What started as a logistics need has become a full-service partnership. Boston Scientific’s internal teams spend less time managing device coordination and more time on the work that actually requires them. Devices go out complete. They come back accounted for. And when they hit a show floor, they look the part.

Ready to think about the bigger picture?
This program reflects something we believe across every client relationship: when a company brings in a third-party partner, that partner should function like an extension of their team. Not a vendor waiting for instructions. A team that knows the program, anticipates the need, and handles what falls in the gray area without being asked twice.
If your devices, samples, or exhibit assets need a smarter home between events, we know how to build that program.
